Turning things around: our journey so far

We have already come a long way. As an academic spin-off, Pixel Photonics was founded 2020 to commercialize waveguide-integrated SNSPDs. Today we are delivering our single photon detector systems to various customers, have been awarded with an innovation award and will soon launch Seed-round funding.

With our high efficiency single photon detectors we will redefine single photon detection to harness the information of every single light particle to enable breakthroughs in our application fields.

A win-win: our close collaboration with academia

Our collaboration with academia and academic partners is one reason we are up front with technological innovation. It ensures that our products stay state of the art and enables us to use resources like the Münster Nanofabrication Facility. More than just having access to the latest research and technology developments, our strong bond with academia also contributes to the advancement of science and technology in the field of photonics and quantum technology as a whole.

Reduction of our impact on the environment

We offset the CO2 emissions from our business travel, fund public transportation for our employees, and adopt a digital approach to reduce paper waste.

We ensure that our customers and partners always receive the best product quality. That's why our detectors are developed and manufactured in-house at our headquarters in Münster, Germany.

Münster: research hub and laid-back working environment

With one of the largest universities in Germany, Münster offers a broad academic base – and therefore resources and knowledge that are fundamental for our subject. More than 60.000 students, around 300.000 inhabitants and even more bicycles live in this green city with lots of recreational areas. Working here means benefiting from an excellent academic infrastructure and experiencing one of the most livable cities in Germany.
